Goodhue teen dies in car crash
Authorities said the 17-year-old was ejected and died at the scene in Dakota County Wednesday morning.
RANDOLPH, Minn. — A 17-year-old driver is dead after his car rolled and he was ejected in Dakaota County on Wednesday morning, according to officials.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office said in a release that around 8 a.m., the teenager was driving north on Highway 56 near Dakota County Road 88 in Randolph when his vehicle slid into the ditch and rolled.
The driver was ejected from the car and he was pronounced dead on scene.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) identified the teen as Tayven Geiger of Goodhue in an incident report.
State troopers noted that Geiger was not wearing a seatbelt.
No one else was in the car and no other cars were involved, troopers said.
The Minnesota State Patrol is the lead investigating agency. The Randolph Fire Department, Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and Northfield Ambulance assisted with response and cleanup.

Police are investigating after three men were shot early on Saturday morning.
MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are investigating after three men were shot in the Ventura Village neighborhood early Saturday morning.
According to Minneapolis police, officers were called to the area around East 21st Street and South 15th Avenue around 5 a.m. Saturday.
Officers found three men had been shot. One of the men died and the two others were taken to the hospital with what police described as life-threatening injuries.
Officials said the shooting happened at a small homeless encampment.
Police have not announced any arrests as of Saturday morning.
