MINNEAPOLIS — A holiday favorite is returning to the Twin Cities.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas is hitting the stage starting Wednesday at the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis.

Two actresses performing in this year’s show, Elsa Dungan-Hawks and Monica Xiong, joined KARE 11 News at Noon to discuss the holiday classic tale from Dr. Seuss.

Get your Boo Bag at St. Croix Chocolate Company

This Halloween the chocolate shop is getting very festive.

MARINE ON SAINT CROIX, Minn. — A small sweet shop in a Minnesota river town has won some BIG awards for its chocolates.

St. Croix Chocolate Company in Marine on St. Croix has won national and international awards including Best of Show in this year’s America’s Division of the International Chocolate Awards.

Their chocolates are available at the St. Croix Chocolate Company kitchen or online.

This Halloween they are selling a Halloween Countdown Calendar that features 14 prize-winning recipes made into ghosts, bats, skulls and other spooky configurations. They also have a Boo Bag-handled tote that comes with their “best of” Halloween assortment.

Owner and Chocolatier, Robyn Dochterman, joined KARE 11 Saturday to share what St. Croix Chocolate Company has to offer.

New book addresses life’s tough conversations

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Talking about life-changing events like illness, injury and aging isn’t always pleasant, but avoiding those conversations can make things much harder when they do happen. 

A Twin Cities couple is trying to help spur important discussions with a new interactive workbook called “Family Conversations We Must Have But Do Not Want To.” Lisa White, a registered nurse and Michael White, a licensed nursing home administrator and assisted living director, wrote the workbook to steer individuals, seniors, couples and families toward making life decisions so they’re on the same page.

The Whites visited KARE 11 Saturday to talk about the book and the personal story that had them struggling in the search for answers to important questions.
