The incidents of gunfire happened between 2 a.m. Sunday and 1 a.m. Monday, leaving three dead and at least six injured.

MINNEAPOLIS — Sunday was a violent day for the city of Minneapolis as a string of shootings left at least 3 dead and 6 injured.

Minneapolis police shared that they don’t know if there is a connection between any of the shootings. Here is the breakdown of what police say happened, from 2:15 a.m. Sunday to midnight Monday.

Two men in their 20s died after a conflict in a Dinkytown tobacco shop escalated to gunfire. A store attendant was rushed to HCMC with non-life-threatening injuries.

None of the gunshot victims are thought to be University of Minnesota students, despite the store’s proximity to campus.

About 30 minutes later, officers responded to a shooting near Grand Avenue South and West Lake Street. Authorities said they believe that an altercation occurred in a parking lot that led to shots being fired. One victim, a man in his 20s, was found with potentially life-threatening wounds and transported to HCMC.

Later Sunday afternoon one man arrived at an area hospital with potentially life-threatening wounds after a shooting at the Winner Gas station at West Broadway and North Lyndale Avenue.

Around 1:40 p.m. another man in his 20s was shot near the 600 block of Penn Avenue North at 1:40 p.m. He was transported to North Memorial Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries. Minneapolis police said it appeared that someone fired shots at the man from a passing car while he was standing outside.

Approximately an hour later a man in his 20s was shot about two miles away at Oliver Avenue near Penn and Lowry Avenues North. He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said they believe someone fired shots from a passing car while the man was standing outside, but they said despite the similarities to the incident at 6th and Penn it is unclear if the two incidents are related.

Finally, just minutes into Monday (12:05 a.m.) came a seventh shooting that left one man dead and one woman injured at Lake Street and 12th Avenue. Officers said they found a man in his 30s lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. They attempted life-saving measures but the man died at the scene.

The woman, in her 40s, was taken to a hospital and is expected to be okay.

Minneapolis police said they are investigating all the incidents.

This story will be updated as more information is available.
