Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Cyber Week Deal

Samsung

If you head over to Samsung’s website, you can wrap your hands around the incredibly popular Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphone for a super low price (potentially free). The base price for the 256GB configuration of the phone is $1,000. However, Samsung is currently offering up to $600 in instant trade-in credit if you have an eligible phone or mobile device (including a tablet or smartphone from any brand). This could bring the cost of the phone down to just $400.

If you’re also eligible for the Samsung Offer Program, you’ll get an additional $300 off. This brings the cost of the unlocked phone to just $100. The Samsung Offer Program is open to students, educations, first responders, military personnel (as well as veterans and their families), plus local, state and federal government workers. Employees of certain companies are also eligible.

As always, you can purchase the Flip 5 outright, pay for the phone in four bi-weekly installments, or finance the phone for up to 24 months.

Wait, you say. That’s $100 — not free. We know, but if you get the phone through Samsung, and activate it with AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile, and you have an eligible trade-in, you could get up to $1,030 in 36 monthly trade-in credits on your cellular bill.

And that means you ultimately get the 256GB version of the phone for free.

Additional discounts are available if you’re willing to switch your cellphone service to one of these providers. Plus, when you purchase this phone from Samsung, you automatically receive two months use of Adobe Lightroom, a four month trial subscription to SiriusXM, six months of Microsoft 365 access, and four months of unlimited access to YouTube Premium.

There’s one more deal you should know about, too. At the same time you purchase the Flip 5 from Samsung, you can save $180 off the price of Galaxy Buds2 Pro wireless earbuds, so they’ll cost you just $50 (instead of their usual $230). You can also snag up to $250 off the price of a Samsung Galaxy Watch6, which will bring its price down to as low as $100.

Costco recalled nearly 80,000 pounds of store-brand butter last month because the product’s label was missing a key ingredient: milk.

The wholesaler recalled 79,200 pounds of two varieties of butter — 46,800 pounds of its Kirkland Signature Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter, and 32,400 pounds of Kirkland Signature Salted Sweet Cream Butter because it omitted the allergen.

The Food and Drug Administration Butter said both products list cream, “but may be missing the Contains Milk statement.”

The FDA classified the action as a “Class II” recall, which describes situations in which exposure to the product “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”

The products were made by Continental Dairy Facilities Southwest. The affected butter products include:

  • Lot 2424091 – Best By Feb 22, 2025
  • Lot 2424111 – Best By Feb 23, 2025
  • Lot 2426891 – Best By Mar 22, 2025
  • Lot 2426991 – Best by Mar 23, 2025
  • Lot 2424191 – Best By Feb 23, 2025
  • Lot 2427591 – Best By Mar 29, 2025

Consumers who have purchased butter under recall are urged to dispose of it or return it to Costco for a refund.

San Diego could soon get an MLS team

Ecuador and FC Cincinnati player Marco Angulo has died from injuries he sustained in a car crash that also killed his former youth team teammate Roberto Cabezas, the Ecuadorian Football Association said on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old Angulo was a passenger in the car that crashed into a metal barrier on the Rumiñahui highway southeast of Quito on Oct. 7. The driver and Cabezas, who played for Independiente Juniors, were killed in the incident.

Angulo was left with serious head injuries and a lung contusion. He was placed in an artificial coma but died from the injuries on Monday night, the El Universo newspaper reported.

Angulo played for Ecuadorian league champion L.D.U. Quito on loan from MLS team FC Cincinnati.

In a statement, FC Cincinnati said it was “heartbroken” to share the news of Angulo’s death.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Marco — a husband and father, a brother and son, a friend and teammate,” the club said. “He was a joyful, kind young man who lit up every room he entered.”

Ecuador’s FA said Angulo “defended the colors of our country at every opportunity he had with his talent and dedication. Marco was not only an outstanding player, but a great teammate. He leaves a deep pain in our hearts.”

“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time,” the association added on social media.

Angulo, a defensive midfielder, played for Ecuador Under-17s and Under-20s before making his senior debut in a friendly against Iraq in November 2022. He played in another friendly against Australia in March last year.

FC Cincinnati said Angulo is survived by his wife and young son.
