The season of Taylor Swift: Pop princess Taylor Swift’s very public romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce made being a WAG (wives and girlfriends of athletes) cool again. Not since supermodel Gisele Bündchen first starting dating former husband Tom Brady has an athlete’s partner garnered so much attention. But with Olympian Simone Biles in the stands (her husband Jonathan Owens plays for the Green Bay Packers) and Bills QB Josh Allen dating Pitch Perfect actress Hailee Steinfeld, what’s happening in the stands this season is getting as much as attention as the game on the field. Swift’s Eras Tour has finished its 2023 dates and Swift is rumored to be hanging out in Kansas City for the next few weeks, which means fans can expect to see a lot more of Taylor high-fiving Brittney Mahomes and hanging with Mama Kelce in the stands at Arrowhead.
Is this the Cowboys year? If you are a Dallas Cowboys fan, every year is “the” year (the one where the team goes all the way to the Super Bowl), but this year the 8-3 Cowboys actually have a shot. At the end of the 2022 season, quarterback Dak Prescott promised to throw less turnovers (he led the league with 15). As of today’s writing, Dak managed his interceptions to just six. With superstars like Brandin Cooks and Micah Parsons on the field, the Cowboys have never looked better. They’re two games behind the Philadelphia Eagles for the top spot in the NFC East with the toughest part of their season ahead. The Cowboys likely won’t knock the 10-1 Eagles off their perch, but are on track to secure the top Wild Card spot and a ticket to the postseason.
Good morning, Baltimore. Many hours of NFL sports broadcasts over recent years has been dedicated to arguing the talents (or lack thereof) of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. Lamar has always been a dynamic scrambler out of the pocket and this season is no different with Jackson scoring 574 rushing yards, the top for QBs in the NFL. Over halfway through the 2023 NFL, Lamar is poised to have the best season of his career. The Ravens are 9-3 coming into Week 13 and MVP chants follow Lamar (again) at every turn. The Ravens might not get the hype of the Chiefs or Eagles, but they’re establishing themselves a Super Bowl contender and Lamar is already make a case to turn those chants into reality

Will home prices drop in 2025? Here’s what experts say.
Higher mortgage rates and limited homes for sale have created major hurdles for buyers in recent years. Average 30-year mortgage rates hover between 6.08% and 7.44%, while available listings remain far below normal levels. Home prices that surged during the pandemic have stayed steep, putting homeownership out of reach for many.
These challenges have forced countless buyers to delay their plans. Home prices, in general, are significantly higher than they were just a few years ago. After accounting for today’s elevated rates, monthly payments could be double what they were before the pandemic.
As 2025 approaches, buyers and sellers are watching the real estate market closely for signs of change. Industry experts have unique views on whether prices will drop next year. Some predict cooling in certain regions, while others expect continued increases due to strong demand. Below, we gathered what they forecast for home prices in the months ahead.
Considering a home purchase now? See what mortgage interest rate you’d be eligible for here.
Will home prices drop in 2025?
“It’ll vary from region to region,” says Evelyn Lueker, associate realtor at Auker Group in San Diego, California. She notes that some areas could see price drops if interest rates fall and more sellers list their homes. But other factors, such as millennial demand and housing shortages, could keep prices high. Here’s what experts predict for both scenarios:
No, home prices are expected to keep climbing
Many real estate and mortgage professionals believe home prices will continue rising in 2025, despite current affordability challenges.
For example, loanDepot’s sales manager, Debbie Calixto, doesn’t see home prices dropping in the new year. “Inventory is increasing, [but] nationwide, there’s still a housing shortage and significant pent-up demand,” she observes. Many prospective homebuyers will likely re-enter the market when interest rates cool again. And greater competition often drives home costs up.
Population trends reinforce this supply-and-demand perspective. Millennials make up a large portion of homebuyers, yet their homeownership rates lag behind previous generations at the same age. “Supply can’t keep up with the growing demand,” highlights Lueker. This persistent gap between strong buyer demand and limited housing supply suggests prices will keep climbing.

But there’s always a possibility home prices could drop
Depending on where you live or where you’re looking, you may see home values stabilize as pandemic-era trends reverse. Some housing markets adjusted from 2020 to 2022 when remote work became the norm. Many people left expensive cities for more affordable areas.
Now, things are changing. “[With] the pandemic over, [more] employers are calling their employees back [into the office],” says Joe Chung, realtor at Equity Union in Palm Springs, California. He expects some remote workers who bought homes in vacation and retirement areas will need to sell. This could create buyer-friendly conditions in these markets.
While national price drops are less likely, local markets could respond differently to affordability pressures. “If we see price drops, it would be likely due to a shift in supply and demand caused by ongoing affordability issues,” Calixto points out. Areas with sharp pandemic price increases might cool first as buyers hit their financial limits.
The bottom line
Predictions on real estate prices are speculative and subject to change based on various factors. So rather than trying to time the market, focus on your financial readiness. Lueker stresses that the best time to buy a home is as soon as you can afford it.
As the Federal Reserve considers more rate cuts in 2025, Calixto expects more buyers to come off the sidelines. This could lead to a gradual market normalization. But local conditions will vary widely, so you must understand your specific market.
Start by meeting with a few lenders to understand your budget and loan options. Then, connect with a local real estate agent familiar with your target area(s). They can help you develop a practical plan, whether you’re ready to buy now or need to wait. An experienced agent will also guide you through local market trends, available homes in your price range and negotiation strategies.
Remember that while interest rates and home prices might shift in the coming year, finding the right home at the right time for your situation matters most.

Supreme Court rejects Mark Meadows’ bid to move Georgia prosecution involving 2020 election to federal court
Washington — The Supreme Court on Tuesday turned away former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows’ bid to move his state prosecution to federal court in the case stemming from an alleged effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia.
The court’s denial of Meadows’ appeal leaves in place a lower court decision that returned the prosecution to state court. Meadows and President-elect Donald Trump, for whom he worked, were charged alongside 17 others by Fulton County prosecutors for their alleged efforts to reverse Trump’s electoral loss in Georgia in 2020.
They pleaded not guilty to all charges. Proceedings have been on hold for months as a Georgia appeals court is set to consider in December whether to allow Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to continue prosecuting Trump and his allies.
Meadows served as Trump’s chief of staff from March 2020 to January 2021 and was a prominent figure in the president-elect’s attempts to stay in office for a consecutive term after the November 2020 presidential election.
Two counts were brought against him by Fulton County prosecutors: the first alleges that he engaged in a wide-ranging racketeering conspiracy with Trump, and the second alleges he participated in an effort to solicit a public officer, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, to violate his oath of office.
Meadows is portrayed in the indictment returned in August 2023 as a go-between for Trump and others involved in coordinating the strategy for contesting the 2020 election and disrupting the joint session of Congress on Jan. 6, 2021. He participated in a Jan. 2, 2021, phone call between Trump and Raffensperger, during which the then-president asked Raffensperger to “find” 11,780 votes, enough to make him the winner of Georgia’s election.
After Meadows was charged, he sought to transfer the case to federal court under a federal officer removal statute and argued that the actions alleged in the indictment related to his role as chief of staff.
The district court, however, sent the case back to the Fulton County Superior Court. While U.S. District Judge Steve Jones conceded that some of the charged conduct involved Meadows’ official duties, there was not enough evidence to establish that a “heavy majority” of the acts alleged against him related to his role as chief of staff.
“Meadows’s alleged association with post-election activities was not related to his role as White House Chief of Staff or his executive branch authority,” Jones wrote in his September 2023 decision.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit upheld the district court’s decision, finding that the federal officer removal statute does not apply to former federal officers and “his participation in an alleged conspiracy to overturn a presidential election was not related to his official duties.”
“At bottom, whatever the chief of staff’s role with respect to state election administration, that role does not include altering valid election results in favor of a particular candidate,” Chief Judge William Pryor wrote for the three-judge panel.
Meadows appealed to the Supreme Court, arguing that whether a chief of staff prosecuted based on actions related to his work for the president can remove his case to federal court is not a close call.
Calling the 11th Circuit’s decision “miserly and counterintuitive,” Meadow’s lawyers warned in a filing that allowing it to stand would open former federal officers up to politicized state prosecutions for unpopular federal policies.
“The chief of staff is a unique federal officer, the top aide to a coequal branch of government personified by the president,” they wrote. “If former officers cannot remove at all, and if even a current chief of staff cannot remove a case arising out of acts taken in the White House in service of the president, then the floodgates are open, and ‘nightmare scenarios’ will not take long to materialize.”
Fulton County prosecutors urged the Supreme Court to reject Meadows’ appeal and leave the 11th Circuit’s decision in place. They noted that Trump did not even move his case to federal court, and said Meadows failed to “articulate any coherent source of authority for the president or his staff to supervise or affect a state’s administration of elections.”
