West Elm

Wander through enough furniture stores and you’re bound to run into sleek pieces of wood furniture that manage to look classic but also modern at the same time. If you’ve ever wondered what this style of versatile style furniture is, it’s got a name, and there’s a reason it’s everywhere. Mid-century modern furniture has been around since the 20th century (hence the term “mid-century”), and the originals have price tags that aren’t exactly budget-friendly. But nowadays, everybody has knockoffs. Unless you’re shopping strictly vintage, it’s the knockoffs of mid-century modern furniture that you’re likely seeing, especially at big retailers such as West Elm, AllModern and more.

Given the design style’s appeal, we decided to round up the best places to buy mid-century modern furniture online. We were delighted to find some of our favorite retailers, such as Castlery and Wayfair, have a wide selection of mid-century modern furniture, ranging from lounge chairs to bookshelves. The price of mid-century modern furniture varies by retailer and furniture piece, although you can expect to pay anywhere between a couple hundred for a bedside table to more than $2,000 for a dining table set.

Best mid-century modern furniture overall: West Elm

West Elm

West Elm is known best by many as being the premiere place to shop for mid-century modern furniture. Browse their site and you’ll find lounge chairs, coffee tables, dressers, beds, dining tables, bookshelves, desks and more in the mid-century style.

What’s more, you can easily find the brand’s selection by inputting “mid-century” into the search bar. Scroll through the collection and you’ll find many pieces currently on sale, including this mid-century bookshelf with drawer for $200 off and this mid-century media console for $300 off. The latter piece of furniture is made of FSC-certified wood, can fit a TV up to 96 inches and comes with ample storage, including two cabinets and six drawers.

Best budget mid-century modern furniture: Amazon

Amazon

Can’t afford West Elm’s mid-century modern furniture? No problem. Head over to Amazon. The retail giant has mid-century modern pieces at a fraction of the price. The caveat with buying from Amazon is that it’s not a dedicated home store the way that the other retailers we listed are, so you may find yourself taking longer to find the piece you want.

Some of our favorite finds include this loveseat sofa, which is currently 21% off for a limited time and this eye-catching, slatted TV stand that’s on sale for 23% off. There’s also this comfy wood-and-linen accent chair that is $45 off when you add the available coupon.

Best selection of mid-century modern furniture: Wayfair

fairbanks-85-5-modern-living-room-full-grain-leather-sofa-couch.jpg

Wayfair

Wayfair’s inventory is massive, so you have a large selection of mid-century modern furniture to choose from. The quality will often be better than Amazon, and sometimes, you’ll find pieces that are more affordable than West Elm. In fact, we’ve found some West Elm dupes on Wayfair.

Wayfair’s selection of mid-century modern furniture includes dressers, media consoles, couches, chairs, beds, patio furniture, side tables and more. We’re fans of this four-row dresser from Mercury Row, this splurge-worthy leather sofa and this affordable wood-spindle platform bed from Zinus

Best mid-century modern dining furniture: Casterly

brighton-oval-dining-table-lifestyle-crop-1653877220.jpg

Castlery

Castlery stands out for having a solid selection of mid-century modern dining tables and dining sets. Most of the dining tables themselves are more than $1,000, but you can find a couple of options under $700, including this small round dining table, perfect for compact kitchens or dining rooms, for $499. Shopping for a family dining table? We love this extendable option that seats eight.

Dining sets with chairs are more costly, but they’ll save you the time and hassle of having to buy chairs separately. We like this set that comes with an oval dining table and four padded seats. You can get the Brighton oval dining table with four Carrie chairs on sale for $86 off for a limited time.

Best mid-century modern bedroom furniture: AllModern

florian-platform-bed-1.jpg

AllModern

AllModern offers a smaller selection of furniture than its parent company, Wayfair, but many of the choices are certainly more stylish. This includes mid-century modern furniture. AllModern has mid-century options across furniture categories, but what stands out is the bedroom furniture.

The retailer has sleek platform beds as well as multi-drawer dressers and nightstands that you can match with it. And if you want a bed with upholstery, there’s some mid century modern beds covered in fabric, offering a more cozy sleeping set up, or even vegan leather

You can also watch sports airing on network TV with an affordable indoor antenna, which pulls in local over-the-air HDTV channels such as CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, PBS, Univision and more. Here’s the kicker: There’s no monthly charge.

For anyone living in a partially blocked-off area (those near mountains or first-floor apartments), a digital TV antenna may not pick up a good signal — or any signal at all. But for many homes, a digital TV antenna provides a seriously inexpensive way to watch sports without paying a cable company. Indoor TV antennas can also provide some much-needed TV backup if a storm knocks out your cable.

This ultra-thin, multi-directional digital antenna with a 65-mile range can receive hundreds of HD TV channels, including ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, Fox, and Univision and can filter out cellular and FM signals.
