Buying things at $1 Tree shops in Texas used to signify simply that they cost a $1.
However, those costs have steadily increased over time. And now, Dollar Tree seems to be hiking prices once again.
Dollar Tree opened its doors in 1986. Until recently, most products at the shop cost $1. People who shopped at Dollar Tree shops in Texas depended on the cheap costs to make ends meet.
Then, in 2021, Dollar Tree stated that the things offered in its shops will cost $1.25. Granted, the difference is just $0.25, but it may mount up quickly at checkout. Even still, consumers were surprised by the price increase.
Prepare yourself because Dollar Tree is raising prices yet again. A gazillion TikTok accounts have been chatting about the hike, which is set to happen this month and has already been seen at some locations.
Simplistically Living writes that during a Dollar Tree Q4 Earnings Call, “Dollar Tree’s chairman and CEO, Rick Dreiling, stated they would begin offering more products at the $1.50 up to $7 price point.”Dreiling said:
This year, across 3,000 stores, we expect to expand our multi-price assortment by over 300 items at price points ranging from $1.50 to $7.
It appears that Dollar Tree’s new lowest price will be $1.50, with the higher-priced items marked as high as $7.Will this affect your shopping habits, or do you consider this still one of the best shopping deals around?
