The final Social Security groups in the United States will shortly get their March retirement benefits. This month, thousands of recipients might get benefits as normal, but the day on which they receive each payment varies depending on the group to which they belong.
This implies that if you get a Social Security retirement payout due to age or disability, it makes no difference in determining which category you belong to. The criteria that determine payout day are the year of retirement and the date of birth. Group 4 receives the final check each month, but this does not have to be a negative since with preparation, financial difficulties may be avoided.
When does Group 4 get their March Social Security check?
Group 4 retirees will get their March Social Security payout in the last week of the month. If you expected to get money on earlier mailing days but it has yet to arrive, you may be in group 4. In such situation, you will be able to start enjoying your new retirement income very soon.
The Social Security Administration will issue the payment to group 4 on March 26, 2025. After this payment day, there will be no more payment days in the March benefits, thus we will have to wait until April to get our next monthly check. Without a doubt, knowing the payment day is critical to fully controlling our economy.

Requirements to be in Social Security Group 4
To be part of this group of retirees in the United States, we only need to meet two requirements. Social Security checks are sent to different groups on different days of the month depending on both the year of retirement and the day of birth.
The payment for March 26, 2025 will only be for retirees who are part of group 4 and the requirements to be part of this Social Security group are:
- Have a retirement benefit from after May 1997.
- Have a birthday between the 21st and 31st of any month.
Both requirements must be met. It is not possible to collect the payment for March 26th if we are not in this specific group, since each payment day is different for each group. In addition to that, remember that if you do not have Direct Deposit activated you will not be able to get the benefit payment on the same day it is sent, but will have to wait a little longer, around three days, for the money to become available.
