Nixa, Missouri — According to the Christian County Sheriff, two teenagers have gone missing from the Burrell Behavioral Health facility in Nixa.
According to Sheriff Brad Cole, shortly after 7 p.m. on Wednesday night, a 911 call was received regarding two teenagers who had left the Burrell Milano House in Nixa. Sheriff Cole claims it is a controlled facility, but fire alarms were activated, allowing them to escape.
The teenagers are Savannah Powloski (17) and Jason Parsons (16). Sheriff Cole claims it was a “planned and calculated event” to escape the facility.
“The fire alarms were activated, allowing the doors to be released. They fled the area, and we conducted a lengthy search last night with deputies and Nixa Police,” says Sheriff Cole, who believes the two teenagers are still together somewhere.
Powloski was last spotted wearing black pants and a pink shirt. Parsons was last seen wearing dark pants and an unknown color shirt.
Law enforcement was unable to locate them, and the teens have been marked as “missing” in the national NCIC database as either missing or runaway. The Sheriff believes there is no medical condition that would put them or anyone else in danger. Cole says that in cases like these, the department will collaborate with state officials.
“Many of the juveniles in this facility are wards of the state.” We will typically work through the state on this, but any information we can obtain is beneficial,” Cole says.
Parsons’ parent tells Ozarks First that he has been in state custody for some time, and his residential placement is scheduled to last six months. According to his parent, he has been at the facility in Nixa for about two weeks.
If you see one of the two teenagers, call 911 or the Christian County Dispatch Center at 417-582-1030.
