Charleston, West Virginia — Residents gathered in several West Virginia cities on Saturday to protest the Trump administration’s actions.
They protested the Trump administration’s policies on Social Security, tariffs, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), voting rights, Veterans Affairs, and other issues, gathering outside the state capitol in Charleston, the Cabell County Courthouse in Huntington, and Ironton to speak out.
There was a special focus on federal cuts made by the DOGE to Veterans Affairs and Medicare.
The protesters were part of a larger national movement known as 50501: 50 protests in 50 states for one movement. Other states across the country held similar protests at the same time, as part of a coordinated effort.
Previous protests in Charleston on April 5 were part of the same movement.
