“The Man” is back in the WWE. Becky Lynch made a surprise return on Sunday at WWE WrestleMania 41 Night 2. Lynch aligned with fellow Irish superstar Lyra Valkyria, and the crowd roared in approval.
Women’s intercontinental champion Valkyria and Bayley recently won a tag team tournament to compete for the WWE women’s tag team championships. On Saturday, defending champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez appeared to attack Bayley backstage. Bayley was not cleared to compete, giving Valkyria roughly 24 hours to find a partner.
Lynch and Valkyria defeated Morgan and Rodriguez in the match, claiming the women’s tag team titles after Lynch pinned Morgan.
Lynch’s return to WrestleMania 41 comes after his last appearance on May 27, 2024. Lynch lost a steel cage match against Morgan, the women’s world champion at the time. Lynch’s WWE contract reportedly expired in June, but professional wrestling journalist Sean Ross Sapp reported that she signed a new deal in January, sparking speculation that she may return at the Royal Rumble or Elimination Chamber.
WrestleMania 41 began Saturday at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium and will conclude Sunday night. Lynch competed alongside a number of other well-known wrestlers, including John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Randy Orton.
