Saint Paul, Minnesota – The Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) reported that a woman was killed in a home in the North Frogtown neighborhood Friday morning.
Officers responded to the 300 block of Edmund Avenue around 11 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from that location.
Officers entered the home and discovered an unharmed 2-year-old child, followed by a dead woman. Based on her body’s “trauma,” police determined that it was a homicide. The two-year-old is thought to be the victim’s child.
“It affects not only the family, but the entire community, and I know that family and community are beginning to gather,” SPPD Sergeant Toy Vixayvong said. “It’s a very unfortunate incident for everyone.”
On Saturday, authorities announced that a man had been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.
This marks the third homicide in Saint Paul in 2025. According to the SPPD, there were eight cases this time last year.
