A Michigan man reportedly turned himself in to police after allegedly stabbing his wife with a plastic sword and killing her with pliers.
The Wayne County State’s Attorney’s Office announced a first-degree murder charge against Timothy Morgan, 68, who allegedly murdered his wife, Kathryn Morgan, 67, in the early hours of May 4.
According to the Detroit Police Department, officers responded to a residence on Detroit’s Conley Street for a reported stabbing at 4:30 a.m. and discovered Kathryn Morgan’s body inside with “multiple stab wounds to the back and head.”
According to police and the state’s attorney, Timothy Morgan surrendered to the Detroit Police Department’s 11th Precinct and was booked into the Wayne County Criminal Justice Center, where he is being held without bond.
Police believe the alleged murder weapons were a plastic sword and pliers, which were used to strike Kathryn Morgan’s head fatally. The police stated on Facebook that the plastic sword was used to stab her several times.
Kathryn Morgan was discovered in the home’s living room, according to police. They did not specify a possible motive for the homicide.
The State’s Attorney’s Office stated that Timothy Morgan was arraigned on Tuesday and will return to court on May 16 for a probable cause hearing. A preliminary exam is scheduled for May 22.
