In-N-Out, one of America’s most loved burger chains, is growing once again. Known for its fresh ingredients and loyal customer base, the popular West Coast brand is now expanding into more states while staying true to its high standards. With seven new restaurants planned across four different states, In-N-Out is proving that slow and steady growth still works in the fast food world.
A Look at In-N-Out’s Growth Journey
Founded in California in 1948, In-N-Out first expanded out of state in 1992 with a restaurant in Las Vegas. Over the years, it carefully added more locations, entering Arizona in 2000, Utah in 2008, and more recently, Colorado, Oregon, Texas, and Idaho.
Now, in 2025, the chain is moving into its ninth state—Washington—with a new location opening in Ridgefield. This will be In-N-Out’s first-ever restaurant in the state.
New Restaurants and States
So far, In-N-Out has confirmed seven new restaurants will open in these four states:
- Colorado: A new location has already opened in Brighton.
- Arizona: A restaurant is coming to Surprise.
- Washington: Ridgefield will host the brand’s first branch in the state.
- Tennessee: Plans are in motion for growth in the Southeast, starting with a new corporate hub in Nashville.
This thoughtful expansion is focused on growing in areas with rising populations and within reach of its supply chain. This helps In-N-Out keep its ingredients fresh and maintain the quality that fans love.
New Headquarters for the Southeast
To support this expansion, In-N-Out is setting up a second company headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee by 2026. This will be the main base for the chain’s Southeastern operations.
The original headquarters in Irvine, California, and the Baldwin Park office (where it all began), will still be in use. But now, many employees from Irvine will move to Baldwin Park as part of the new dual-HQ plan.
Owner Lynsi Snyder shared that the decision reflects their goal of keeping the “In-N-Out family” united and better prepared to serve new customers across the U.S.
Fan Reactions and Social Media Buzz
The news of In-N-Out arriving in new states, especially Washington, has caused a lot of excitement on social media. Fans have been posting their happiness online:
One fan wrote, “Yes! We’re excited to get one so close to home!”
Another said, “In-N-Out is so much better [than McDonald’s],” while someone else praised its quality compared to Chipotle.
Clearly, people across the country are eager to welcome the chain to their neighborhoods.
Why In-N-Out Stands Out
Even as it grows, In-N-Out stays privately owned and refuses to franchise. This means the company keeps full control over quality, service, and ingredient standards. Unlike many fast food brands that grow quickly through franchising, In-N-Out is all about quality first.
The company’s slow but steady expansion allows them to stay true to their roots—great food, simple menus, and happy customers.
In-N-Out’s expansion into Washington and other states shows the company’s careful approach to growth. With new restaurants opening and a fresh headquarters coming in Nashville, In-N-Out is preparing for the future without losing what made it special. Fans across the country can now look forward to enjoying their favorite burgers closer to home—one new location at a time.
