Customers can expect to see a new Twix flavor hit the shelves in their local stores.
The popular chocolate brand will launch the Snickerdoodle flavor later this year.
A Twix distributor revealed that the bars will have a “snickerdoodle-flavor,” but did not say whether the texture would be similar to the classic treat.
Despite the announcement of a potential collaboration between two fan-favorite snacks, chocolate enthusiasts remain skeptical.
The new Twix-flavored bars were shared on Facebook, but shoppers had mixed reactions.
One user wrote, “Cinnamon is overrated.”
“Shame it is cinnamon; the snicker part would be nice,” another said.
However, this chocolate fan stated that they “can not wait” to try the new Twix bar.
There is currently no information on when shoppers can purchase the new flavoured chocolate, but fans can expect it soon, according to Sporked.
Twix is not the only popular chocolate brand to add a new flavor to its lineup.
Nutella, the creator of the iconic hazelnut cocoa treat, has created a new spread for the first time in over 60 years.
Nutella Peanut is the first new variation in the brand’s 61-year history.
“Hazelnut spread with the delicious flavor of roasted peanuts,” Ferrero said in a statement.
It was developed specifically for the US market, where there is a high consumer demand for peanut-flavored products.
Peanut consumption among Americans has increased over the last 20 years, peaking during the pandemic, according to USDA data cited by The Peanut Institute.
Ferrero hopes that the new spread, which took five years to develop, will help accelerate the company’s growth in the United States.
The product will hit retail shelves next spring, and customers are already being warned that it is not a competitor to peanut butter and will retain Nutella’s distinct hazelnut and chocolate flavors.
“We did not want it to be just another peanut butter,” Gonzalez told the Tribune. “There is a reason why cocoa is still associated with the peanut-and-cocoa formula, rather than just peanuts. It is more about afternoon snacks than lunch, for example.”
Nutella Peanut will be made in Illinois at a $75 million factory where Ferrero also produces other peanut-based products like Butterfinger and Baby Ruth.
It follows the release of a new flavor of M&Ms, which foodies claim is “100 times better than the original”.
And if you love candy, you will not want to miss out on this.
