Minneapolis — A school bus crashed into a playground at a children’s community center in south Minneapolis on Monday, injuring two children.
According to police, the bus was traveling on West 60th Street when it left the road and crashed into a playground near Nicollet Avenue shortly before 4:15 p.m. The Minneapolis Police Department said three children were on the playground at the time of the crash, and two of them were taken to nearby hospitals with injuries that were “apparently non-life-threatening.”
According to authorities, two children on the bus were uninjured. No citations have been issued, and police do not believe the driver was impaired.
Police did not say why the bus left the road, but a witness told KARE 11 that the bus collided with her vehicle before crashing into a playground.
