Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean.

A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.

Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar.

The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way.

When she reached the first hills of the Italic Mountains, she had a last view back on the skyline of her hometown Bookmarksgrove, the headline of Alphabet Village and the subline of her own road, the Line Lane. Pityful a rethoric question ran over her cheek, then

The route, which begins in St. Paul and makes its final stop in Chicago, carried about 300 passengers per train, both ways, on each trip, according to Amtrak.

ST PAUL, Minn. — Editor’s note: The video above first aired on May 21, 2024.

More than 18,500 people took the Borealis train to Chicago in its first month in service, according to new information released by Amtrak Midwest Monday.

The route, which begins in St. Paul and makes its final stop in Chicago, carried about 300 passengers per train, both ways, on each trip, according to Amtrak.

“Amtrak and our state partners have always believed the Twin Cities-Milwaukee-Chicago corridor was a great one with tremendous opportunity,” said Ray Lang, vice president of Amtrak State Supported Service, in a statement. “The ridership numbers we have seen so far confirm our belief and we expect this trend to continue as the service matures and we head into the peak summer travel season.”

Borealis offers amenities like Wi-Fi and cafe service for its 7-hour-and-24-minute duration and tickets start at $41. Deals and discounts for children ages 2-12; students; seniors; veterans; military personnel and families; and groups are also available.

“The number of rides in the first month clearly demonstrates the need for this route,” said Nancy Daubenberger, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). “We are optimistic numbers will remain strong and the Borealis service will continue to provide a safe, sustainable and accessible transportation option.

For more information about Borealis and how to book your ticket, visit Amtrak’s website.

The contest is open for submissions until July 12.

ST PAUL, Minn. — Have you ever wanted to pet a fluffy baby owl?

Unfortunately, you can’t do that, but you can do the next best thing — name one!

The University of Minnesota’s Raptor Center is opening up a naming contest for two rescued owlets. These owls are staying at the center as educational ambassadors instead of being released back to the wild due to their injuries.

The contest is open for submissions until July 12, finalists will be released for the public to vote on July 15-17 and then finally, the owlets’ names will be debuted on July 18.

Now to meet the owls! On the left side of the photo is a young great horned owl that is likely female, according to the Raptor Center website

The website says this owl arrived at the center with cataracts in both eyes and fractures in both wings that are likely from taking a big fall out of the nest. Her wings have healed and she is hanging out in an enclosure visible to tour groups and volunteers.

On the right side of the picture is a young baby owl. The Raptor Center said on its website that he fell from the nest and had internal trauma, bruising and a damaged left eye.

This little guy is on the mend and is not visible to the public currently. Click here for more information and to choose a name.
