WAWA RUSH, America's 'greatest' convenience company with over 1,100 outlets, launches new location just days before closing two in the state

Wawa, the well-known convenience store chain, just celebrated a big moment with the opening of its 300th store in Florida. The new location on Thomasville Road in Tallahassee officially opened on Wednesday, showing that Wawa is growing fast, especially across the Florida Panhandle.

What Makes Wawa Special?

Wawa is more than just a fuel stop. With over 1,100 stores in different states, it’s famous for its fresh sandwiches, salads, snacks, and coffee that you can customize just the way you like. Both travelers and locals love Wawa for its tasty food, clean stores, and helpful service.

Florida Expansion in Full Swing

This new Thomasville Road store is Wawa’s third location in Tallahassee, and it shows that the brand is putting a big focus on Florida. The company plans to open 20 more stores in the state over the next few years, including up to six new stores in Tallahassee alone within the next five to eight years.

Wawa also opened its first Tallahassee store on Capital Circle Northwest in November, and later launched another one on North Blair Stone Road. They even opened their first store in Georgia, in the town of Bainbridge, marking their expansion into a new state.

Sad News for Philadelphia

While things are looking up in Florida, there’s some sad news for fans of Wawa in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—where the company is based. Two stores in Northeast Philadelphia are closing this month.

The Frankford Avenue store will close on April 22, and the Castor Avenue branch will close on April 24. As a thank-you, both locations will be giving away free coffee the day before they close.

What’s Next for Wawa?

Wawa is clearly focusing on growth in the Southeast, especially in Florida, where people love the store’s food and service. By opening more locations in fast-growing areas like Tallahassee, Wawa is working to meet high customer demand.

Right now, if you’re living in Tallahassee, you can enjoy the newest Wawa store—and you probably won’t have to wait long before another one opens nearby.
