Two Pennsylvania women were accused of horrifically abusing a 12-year-old girl, and the alleged abusers were her mother and grandmother.

Stacey Ann Louder, 52, and Amanda Lynn Gregorio, 35, were arrested on Monday after an investigation began in September 2024. According to arrest reports obtained by local news outlet The Citizen’s Voice, the girl was initially taken into custody by Luzerne County Children, Youth, and Families after being hospitalized for seizure-like symptoms. During the visit, the girl’s mother, Gregorio, allegedly admitted to giving her 50 mg of Benadryl and 60 mg of melatonin before she began experiencing symptoms.

From there, investigators learned more about the girl’s home life.

According to the arrest reports, the girl’s visit to the hospital raised concerns among the medical personnel who treated her. They suspected abuse based on her injuries, which included bruises and scars from being restrained in her bed.

When asked about being restrained by police, the girl said it “hurt” and “made her mad.” She also allegedly told police that she was forced to relieve herself while restrained in her bed, where she remained for extended periods of time. According to the report, Louder and Gregorio placed cameras in the girl’s room to ensure she did not escape.

The alleged abuse included forcing the girl to eat cat food, which Gregorio admitted to a witness over the phone, authorities said. The witness also stated that Gregorio told her that she did not like restraining her daughter, but that Louder, Gregorio’s mother and the alleged victim’s grandmother, was “making” her do so.

Prosecutors claimed the girl’s weight had dropped to 50 pounds.

According to Luzerne County District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce, the abuse of this child violates the decency of every mother, grandmother, and otherwise respectable person. Once again, the very people this child would rely on to keep her safe were her attackers.”

Louder and Gregorio were each charged with aggravated assault on a victim under the age of 13, conspiracy, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and tampering with evidence. They were held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on a cash bail of $125,000.

Both women are due in court on May 6.
