McDonald’s Faces Backlash Over Slow Drive-Thru and App Issues

McDonald’s is facing serious criticism from customers who say their service has become too slow. Social media has been flooded with complaints from people upset about waiting too long for their food — especially at the drive-thru.

Long Drive-Thru Waits Leave Customers Frustrated

One customer, Robert (@rpacktor), posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying he had been waiting over 20 minutes in the drive-thru line. He noticed more than a dozen cars parked outside, all waiting for their food.

McDonald’s replied quickly, asking Robert to send his contact details, email ID, and the restaurant’s address through direct message so they could look into the issue.

Another unhappy customer, GStatPro, also shared his frustration. He complained that even after ordering through the app and using the drive-thru, he still had to park and wait another 20 minutes. He didn’t understand why the order-ahead system wasn’t saving time.

Once again, McDonald’s gave the same response — asking for the user’s contact and order details in a DM so they could investigate.

No Exact Time Promise, But Expectations Are High

McDonald’s doesn’t mention any exact wait time for drive-thru service on their official website. But the brand is known for fast service, and clearly, many customers feel they’re not getting what was promised.

The current situation has caused people to doubt if McDonald’s is still living up to its name as a “fast-food” restaurant.

Refund Problems Add Fuel to the Fire

The drive-thru delays aren’t the only issue upsetting customers. Some people say they placed orders through the McDonald’s app, but the orders got cancelled — and they never got their money back.

One angry customer replied to a McDonald’s promotional post with a strong message. He said two of his app orders were cancelled by McDonald’s staff, and he never got a refund, even after a whole year. He also mentioned that his attempts to contact the company were ignored.

The frustrated customer ended his message by saying he might need to get a lawyer. His tweet got more than 5,000 views, and once again, McDonald’s asked for the customer’s contact and order details in a DM.

But this time, the customer hit back, saying, “It’s already been over a year! How am I supposed to find that info??!!!!”

McDonald’s is under fire from many customers who feel their service is getting slower and their app system is unreliable. While the company is trying to respond and offer help on social media, many people feel the solutions are coming too late or are not helpful enough. With fast service being a key part of McDonald’s image, this kind of feedback could seriously hurt its reputation if things don’t improve soon.
