Sam’s Club Rolls Out Big Changes: Pizza Pickup and Longer Café Hours

Sam’s Club Rolls Out Big Changes Pizza Pickup and Longer Café Hours

Customers of Sam’s Club have something to celebrate. The retail giant has just announced two major updates that improve convenience and might finally give it the upper hand over its biggest competitor, Costco, especially in the food department.

These updates come at a time when big warehouse chains are competing not just for your membership money, but also for your loyalty and attention.

Pizza on the Go – Without Leaving Your Car

Sam’s Club is now stepping up its game by offering whole pizzas for takeout. While the official price hasn’t been confirmed yet, early reports from All recipes suggest the cost could be around $9.94, almost the same as Costco’s whole pizza at $9.95.

But the real upgrade is in the convenience.

Unlike Costco, where customers have to stand in line at the food court to collect their order, Sam’s Club will now allow customers to order and pick up their pizza curbside. This means you won’t even have to get out of your car—just place your order and collect it right from the parking lot.

Café Hours Just Got Better

Another big change is about extended café hours—something many Sam’s Club members have been asking for.

Until now, Sam’s Café usually closed at 7 PM on weekdays and 6 PM on Sundays, while the main store stayed open later. This meant customers who came in the evening often missed out on food items like pretzels, pizza, or churros.

After receiving feedback, Sam’s Club is now keeping its café open for the same hours as the main store, giving customers more time to enjoy their favorite snacks.

What Employees Are Saying

While customers are happy with the longer hours, employees are not as thrilled. A Reddit thread revealed that staff now have to complete all closing duties—cleaning, dishes, and stocking—in less than an hour, while still clocking out at 9 PM.

One worker said:
“Café has a ton of cleaning and stocking to do. Ain’t no way they can finish everything in an hour.”

Another added:
“We get yelled at for going just 1 minute over. How are we supposed to manage all this?”

So while the change benefits customers, it seems to be putting pressure on the employees behind the scenes.

With curbside pizza pickup and extended café hours, Sam’s Club is making strong moves to keep its members happy—and maybe even pull ahead of Costco in the food court battle. These updates make it easier for customers to grab a quick bite or dinner without the wait and at almost the same price.

If you’re a Sam’s Club member (or thinking of becoming one), these changes might just convince you to stop by more often—and stay a little longer.
