A Mega Millions ticket sold at a Fort Worth gas station came close to winning the $20 million jackpot, but still managed to secure a substantial $5 million prize in the Friday, March 28 drawing. The lucky ticket was sold at RaceTrac No. 2577 located on Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth, Texas.
How the $5 Million Prize Was Won
This ticket matched five numbers from the drawing, but fell just short of hitting the Mega Ball, which would have secured the jackpot. Despite missing the jackpot, the ticket’s owner still walks away with a $5 million prize. It is the only ticket nationwide to have matched five numbers in the March 28 draw.
Mega Millions Jackpot Grows
While the $20 million jackpot was not claimed, the grand prize for the next drawing on Tuesday, April 1, has now grown to an estimated $29 million. If the winner opts for the cash option, they can expect to receive approximately $13.3 million.
