An Illinois man was arrested for a new type of dine-and-dash scam

If you ever wanted to dine and dash, this is not the way to do it.

When I was young and stupid, my friends would do a lot of stupid things. There was one positive: none of us wanted to be arrested, so we did not escalate the situation. We did not want to confront our parents.

People today are not afraid of being arrested and facing the consequences. That makes things a little complicated. I frequently read about dumb criminals committing stupid crimes. With a little common sense, they can avoid all of the problems.

I just want to sit them down and talk some sense into them. I am guessing it will not work anyway. Come on, what are you thinking? They get caught every time. Smart people are rarely featured in the news.

This incident involves stealing food. It is a new way to dine and look great. It occurred at a McDonald’s in Elmhurst. Definitely not a meal to be arrested for. I bet he was intoxicated. The suspect entered the fast food restaurant, went into the kitchen, grabbed a bag of food, and left without paying.

I do not think he even had time to finish his fries before he was arrested. He must have been extremely hungry because he resisted arrest. He is from Wisconsin, and they must do things differently there.

According to Patch in Illinois, “A 24-year-old Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, man was arrested around 9 p.m. Sunday at McDonald’s, 190 E. Butterfield Road, on charges of retail theft and resisting arrest.” According to police, the man entered the kitchen, grabbed a bag of food, and then left without paying. “He was released.”
