National protests against President Donald Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, are scheduled for April 19. Several events are scheduled throughout Mississippi.
So far in 2025, the 50501 Movement has organized four protests at the Mississippi State Capitol Building: on February 5; President’s Day, February 17; March 4; and again on April 5. At the most recent event, 400 protesters faced off against anti-protesters.
The 50501 (Fifty-Fifty-One) Movement was organized using various social media platforms and the hashtag #50501, which stands for 50 protests, 50 states, and one day.
The organizers oppose Trump’s goals and policies, as well as the cuts made to government agencies by DOGE under Musk’s leadership.
This weekend, local political organizations, as well as 50501 Mississippi, plan protests and marches. The following is what we know.
