A Florida woman who allegedly had sexual contact with an underage boy she met at a funeral is now facing seven felony charges.

Ayla Gonzalez Salinas, 20, was released on bond following her arrest by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies on Monday.

According to an affidavit obtained by WPEC, a local CBS affiliate, Gonzalez Salinas met the alleged victim at a funeral in November 2024 and began communicating via social media. Then, according to the sheriff’s office, things allegedly became illegal in the months that followed.

According to WPEC, Gonzalez Salinas’ correspondence with the underage boy allegedly escalated to sexual contact in December 2024, which occurred several times that month. The affidavit stated that authorities were made aware of the situation in January and launched an investigation into Gonzalez Salinas.

According to WPEC’s reporting on the affidavit, text messages between Gonzalez Salinas and her alleged victim appeared to show that she knew what she was doing was wrong.

According to the affidavit, they discussed the importance of “getting their’story’ straight.” According to WPEC, the two agreed on the number of times they would claim to have met, as well as the underage boy agreeing to claim that he initiated sexual contact.

Gonzalez Salinas was eventually apprehended on Monday and charged with seven felony counts of lewd or lascivious behavior, specifically battery on a victim aged 12 to 16. She posted bond after midnight Wednesday.
