There are a lot of different reasons why Americans can get their Social Security retirement payments on different days of the month. It is important to keep track of all this information because knowing everything about our retirement payment will help us make the best monthly budget possible.
We will have a better idea of our options for organizing our money when we know that the monthly budget might come sooner or later. It is important to remember that we should not depend on Social Security as our only source of income, but that is something that some Americans will never be able to change.
If you are not in group 1 and are waiting for your Social Security payment, you will have to wait a little longer before the money can be deposited into your bank account. Certainty: We can know ahead of time when we will get the money every month. This is something we should always remember.
Social Security payments in April 2025
The government will give four different checks to different groups of American retirees. We will be able to mark the exact day that the Social Security Administration will send us the check if we know which group of retirees we are in.
What about a monthly SSI benefit? The payment will also come, and for many retirees it is already there because it was sent on the first of the month. This kind of payment is important because it helps Americans who are in the most need.

The following payment calendar will help us figure out exactly when the Administration will send us the check:
Payment Date | Group and Requirements |
---|---|
April 3 | Group 1. Payments for pensioners prior to May 1997. |
April 9 | Group 2. Pensioners after May 1997 are in this group. You must also have your birthday between the 1st and the 10th of any month. |
April 16 | Group 3. Pensioners after May 1997 are in this group. You must also have your birthday between the 11th and the 20th of any month. |
April 23 | Group 4. Retirees after May 1997 are in this group. Your birthday must also fall between the 21st and 31st of any month. |
Do not forget that retirees in groups 2, 3, and 4 have to wait until the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of the month to get their check. We need to know how the money will be collected in order to know if we will have it the same day the payment is sent or if we will have to wait a few more days.
It is important to know that the days on the calendar show when the payment is sent, but the day the money is available at the recipient’s bank is up to them.
